Ask almost any artist, and they'll tell you there's a special freedom in sketching. A sketch doesn't have to be perfect. It doesn't have to have all the answers. It's a place to explore, experiment, and simply see where the idea might lead.
Some lines are bold and confident, while others are light, tentative, or fade away all together. There may be changes, corrections, and unexpected marks along the way. And that's part of the beauty. Sketches capture a moment of discovery -- the beginning of an idea before it becomes a finished work of art.
I've always found sketches fascinating because they offer a glimpse into the creative process. They reveal the thinking, searching, and imagining that happens before the final piece takes shape. Sometimes a quick sketch grows into a detailed painting. Sometimes it leads somewhere completely unexpected. And sometimes it simply remains on the page, waiting for the right moment -- or perhaps another time altogether.
